
Hundleton Community Council serves the villages of Hundleton and Maiden Wells, situated in beautiful countryside a few miles from Freshwater West and the Coastal Path.
The name Hundleton is thought to mean “A farm” and existed in the later Middle Ages as far back as 1335, Maiden Wells goes back to around 1336, the name resulting from the plentiful supply of springs, which used to feed 3 cisterns supplying water to Pembroke Town.
Being in a rural area we have many farms within our community, farming sheep, cattle (beef and dairy) and agricultural.
Hundleton has a thriving Sports Association and Pavilion, catering for Cricket, Football and Tennis, plus a play area for the younger children.
St David's Church in Hundleton first opened in 1893, built in tin sheet, the foundation stone for the Church as it is today was laid in 1933, it remains a place of Worship.
Gilead Chapel in Maiden Wells first opened in 1845, this building is now used as a Sunday School, prior to this services were held in homesteads, the Chapel as it is today was opened in 1876 and remains a place of Worship.
Pembrokeshire Riding Stables at Pennybridge Farm Hundleton provides indoor and outdoor all weather riding, and has a Hydro Therapy Pool (for people not horses) which is open to the public.
Penryhn Church in Wales VC School is situated in the village and opened in 2017 following the amalgamation of 3 local schools It provides education from Foundation through to Key Stage 2..
Maiden Wells Garage in Maiden Wells opened in 2003 offering MOT Testing, bodywork, servicing and repairs to all makes of vehicles.
B & R Motors in Hundleton opened in 1986 providing vehicle repairs and MOT testing for both farm and private vehicles.
There are two licensed premises in the village of Hundleton, The Highgate Inn and the Speculation Inn.
For visitors wishing to explore this beautiful part of Pembrokeshire there are numerous B & B facilites and holiday Cottages to let.
The Coastal cruisers passes regularly through Hundleton.
Hundleton Community Council meets on the 3rd Monday of each month (except August and Bank Holidays).
